Meri’s Musical Musings

Another reason I don’t charge for music lessons more than 4-6 weeks at a time

Posted on: May 13, 2015

I’ve rarely been able to afford more than a month at a time (my parents never helped pay for lessons), and typically no more than two weeks at a time. (my lessons with quality teachers were fairly expensive, at about $60/h in the late 1990s, and many now are up to $75-$90, especially for clarinet! Because I appreciated my teachers being flexible on their payment options with me, I think it’s only fair to give it to my clients who might need it, especially if there are multiple people taking lessons!
